Tales From The Shelter – 52

Can ya believe it? When the B.C. NDP were last in power they were building 1,2oo units of affordable housing a year. What’s the number now…close to zilch?
Retarded Martha was talking to the t.v. the other day , standing about an inch away from the screen. She leaves her room door open a lot and you get to see her talking to her dead goldfish, who God comes through. Talk about the undiagnosed!
Meantime the new chick, as yet unnamed, left the yellow pages out on the coffee table and ‘The Warden’ (also known as Creepy), didn’t like this so put the book on the floor outside new chick’s door. New chick got all fired up about this, but when she calmed down she was on the phone, which is across from my room. I don’t usually listen to people’s conversations , honest, it’s boring and a waste of time and I really don’t want to know everything about a person. Believe me, living this close, it’s the last thing you want.
New chick, prior to the phone call , had been going on and on about lack of money. Ah, ya, we’re all in the same boat. She said she was supposed to be getting an additional $800 a year for transportation costs. I guess Human Resources has a fund like this for those who are too anxious to ride the bus and prefer a cab. New chick says she gets her friends to drive her and pays them. She was ticked because the money wasn’t going to be here as soon as she thought.
On the phone , new chick was saying stuff like, “So how much for around the lips and the eyes, because that’s where most of my lines are?”. OMG, she was talking plastic or laser or botox or something! So much for transportation costs.
New chick was all dressed up the other night and said she was going on a blind date (red flag for hooking). She still isn’t back yet and that was three nights ago so I guess she’s on a drug binge. Wonder if she took her methadone with her or not?
Meantime, the sweetest of sweets, Limpy, who has worked so hard to overcome her addictions, just had a liver biopsy and all is well…we’re all so happy for her. Geeze, ya get gals like her who went from 14 and being on needles and growing up to be this awesome woman who’s sweet, humble and wise, to the little con artist new chick. And everything in between.
Sounds like a caucus to me. 😀

I just found out about this $800 transportation allowance. If you OWN a vehicle and live somewhere where there isn’t public transit, the Ministry can give you a vehicle maintenance allowance of about $800. But if you live somewhere with public transit, you get the $45 BC Bus Pass. You can’t have both. I’m surprised she’s getting it! Did she lie about having a car, perhaps?

She very well could have, though i’d be hard pressed to think human resources wouldn’t demand proof of ownership. This gal’s a bit of a mystery.
I have the $45 annual bus pass….it’s awesome.
