Tales From the Shelter – 42
Remembrance Day. Lest we forget. Lest we forget the loss of lives and innosense. Let’s not forget the conscientious observers of WW2 and all wars. It is ever their right. Let’s not forget the brave troops who partook out of a sense of duty.
Lest we forget the women who worked in the factories and flew repaired and new planes to the battelfields and flew the broken ones back. The sock knitters, the nurses, the mothers and fathers who buried children.
World War Two was the second largest genocide in modern history (the first was 100 million First Nations culled by the settlers). Every war is a horror story. They never seem to make sense….save for those so oppressed that basic , fundamental human rights are stripped. The political wars in the sake of religion or natural resources make no sense, no sense at all. Cursed are the Dick Chaneys of the world.
Israel, lay down your missiles.
Canada, think long and hard before you enter a war and fully know your purpose and intent.
I am lucky…I am very lucky….I do not know the horrors of war, and hope my child never will.
Bless the souls of all who fought, resisted, helped out, conscientiously observed, did what they could…you are all angels now and if we listened to you we may never know war again.
One of my favorite quotes: when Einstein was asked what world war three would be like he said, “I don’t know, but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones”.
