Peter MacKay Has Trouble Juggling His Balls

Really, he’s so pathetic. When Liberal Defence Critic Denis Coderre announced he was going to Afghanistan, MacKay called the decision ‘irresponible’. But Pete, isn’t that what so many have been calling you?

Get this, Mr. ‘boy toy’ (ew) says that Coderre’s precense in Karzai-land may endanger troops. OH? How? Because the insurgents and Afghani troops know the liberals don’t want Canada to extend it’s stay so both factions would loose out on funding? Or would the ‘enemy’ freak out at Canada having an opposition member there when they’re so terribly frightened of our ball juggling Defence Minister who could launch anyone of the nuclear packed orbs at any time?

Projection is projection, which puts MacKay in the ship of fools of Conservative MP’s and the PM in jestering light.

I would like to note the clear fear that MacKay showed when question by Don Newman on Politics CBC obout his and his departments lack of Support for the Military Cridic !

  • 2. harpervalley  |  October 6, 2007 at 7:29 pm

hi nicklan! hooooo, i would have loved to have seen that show!!!

  • 3. Q  |  October 6, 2007 at 10:39 pm

Yes, those Libs aren’t manly enough to be in Afghan land. They don’t have the balls to juggle.

We need Steve with a large sword on a white horse leading the way, cutting off the heads of any who would challenge our religious superiority.

  • 4. harpervalley  |  October 7, 2007 at 8:26 am

Q….prob is steve doesn’t have a large sword….he keeps a banana down there for illusion and for when georgie is hungry.

gahd……mackay is just pathetic on this…i mean, at least come up with some original thoughts and lines…..he must have merely been taking notes of what the liberals were saying because it sounds ‘all too familiar’.

  • 5. Wandering Coyote  |  October 7, 2007 at 9:06 am

Looks like Coderre has the balls in this case – if just marginally (he is a Liberal, after all). I’m glad he finally made it to Afghanistan despite the attempted thwarting by the Cons, though I think this is a publicity stunt on both parties’ parts.

  • 6. harpervalley  |  October 7, 2007 at 9:43 am

coyote….it’s all about politics and votes, isn’t it? glibs let the troops know they’re willing to go over (with stephane dion following in november)…..chat up the boys and girls about what they would do…this digs into the con’s plans of getting all the troops votes and i’m sure jack layton will show up at some point.

to go to afghanistan takes balls…..to defy peter mackey takes none (oh, what a frightening, scary man!).

  • 7. Wandering Coyote  |  October 7, 2007 at 11:05 am

    Didn’t Jack Layton already go?

  • 8. HarperValley  |  October 7, 2007 at 4:07 pm

coyote, who knows….i can’t keep up with them all. look for sand on his footprints.

  • 9. 900ft Jesus  |  October 7, 2007 at 5:56 pm

thanks for the cross-post, Scout! How do you do those?

APV has an excellent post on the whole history of the Afghan mission (I really hate that term, it’s become so empty from over-use and politicization).

It’s sickening that any party uses military missions for political gain.

  • 10. harpervalley  |  October 7, 2007 at 7:07 pm

jesus……i think you’re blogger, if i recall, and i’m wordpress…..i can’t remember how to do it on blogger 😦 . on word press you just type the name of the site then hit ‘link’ and copy and paste it in…voila.

good gahd, do i want to read the history of the afghan ‘mission’? i should, we’ll see….does it include the russians?

  • 11. crazy sally  |  October 8, 2007 at 2:03 am

well have any of you bothered to talk to people who have been to afganistan. I guess not. dont you realize what will happen if we leave. if Nato leaves. the taliban will overrun the country and train terror ist thats what will happen. maybe we should have never got involved but its too late now. so canada will be a target. and waht do u think about all the canadians that died there and the fact we are making progress. for example in medical care and education which have greatly increased. ohh of course the media wont talk about that after all good news does not sell. so we should just give up on the mission because its not easy its hard and canadians are dying after that what our grandparents did in ww2 right?

  • 12. 900ft Jesus  |  October 8, 2007 at 7:07 am

crazy sally – Karzai wants to have talks with the Taliban. Bernier is now saying that is a good idea, even though a couple of months ago, he said negotiating with terrorists, the Taliban specifically, was an absolute no. We don’t negotiate with terrorists, he said. So, why are our troops there fighting them if Karzai now wants to negotiate? You say “waht do u think about all the canadians that died there and the fact we are making progress” Having more die for a fight that looks like it could end up being pointles if Karzai just cuts a deal anyway doesn’t bring them back but risks more Canadians. What about any Canadians who die at the hands of Taliban while Kazai negotiates? That is an absolute waste of life.

As for progress – there are different accounts of what is going on, and MacKay, Stevie and Co. preventing opposition members from going over to see what is going on makes it look like they are controlling what we hear, so pick and choose if you will and believe only the positive reports, but some of us would like to have more openess in reporting before we say, sure, send on the troops!

What happens if we leave as far as what the Taliban will do? They won’t come to Canada. They will have what they want – us out of there. They would continued trying to secure their place in Afghanistan. Taliban, while it has AlQueda links, is not AQ. It is a group trying to gain political control of Afghanistan.

If we stay, they will, however, continue to threaten us because they want us out of there.

Whether someone supports this mission or not, Harper should not use it as a political tool or photo op, and that is the point of Scout’s post. Stevie allows only CPC in, barring others. That’s political and does not show support for the troops. They deserve to know all political parties support them. We can support the troops without agreeing with the mission.

  • 13. Wandering Coyote  |  October 8, 2007 at 8:47 am

    Well said, 900ft.

I have serious concerns about Karzai and the NATO role over there. Since I just got up and am groggy, I’ll provide you with this link to read about it instead of coming off as seriously inarticulate here on Scout’s blog.

  • 14. harpervalley  |  October 8, 2007 at 9:29 am

sally……….900ft jesus has some excellent points. think about it. think about that it is a nato mission and only a few other nato countries have troops there….where’s the others? think about canadian troops getting put in some of the worst spots (what, they’re expendable?).

think about karzai’s delays getting an afghanistan army up to snuff and cruising north america begging for more time and money – who’s benefitting the most – karzai et al.

it is a shame and huge loss everytime a canadian troop is injured or killed. no one in canada is cheering for that, not even the most anti-war people…..because pro-peace mean PEACE ,, and not wishing harm upon anyone.

there are other measures to prevent or stop war, rather than with guns. as jesus pointed out , karzai is willing to negotiate with the taliban.

look at the source of the war…..the oligarchy loves it when areas of commodity wealth are unsettled….it means higher prices for them. karzai, bush and harper are all mere puppets.

JJ…hahahahahaha! and he/she is a fraidy cat troll too, choosing a web site that’s not his/hers.

waterboy….ya, and oda arrived 30 minutes after a suicide bomb went off….what does that say about denis-boy endangering the troops? seems the afghani’s don’t want the cons there.
