Tales from The Shelter – 53
I’m on my home island finishing up some songs I’m writing and recording. My friend I stay with is a true friend and mega talented woman. It’s inspiring to be at her home.
The break from the Silly Man couldn’t have come any sooner. All hell’s been breaking loose with Botox woman using crack in her room, and Fat Ass getting piss ass drunk and trying to drag one of the prison dudes into her room. The staff are not happy campers and Fat Ass got locked out and is now in a shelter. Botox seems to be getting leniency (she is on Disability 2 which means she gets the top dollar from Human Resources, which isn’t exactly top dollar in the real world, but…). She also gets an $800/year transportation allowance but blew one cheque on getting her lips and eyes botoxed.
Botox does so much crack that even on her passable living wage she’s broke a few weeks in , so collects pop cans and bottles to cash in. I wouldn’t want to be carrying around her pain.
Retarded Martha is SO irritating that Bossy is counting the days down to when she moves into her own pad, and having nightmares about Martha. Martha told someone she was thinking of going to see a ‘psycho-iatrist’. We have some new women on the floor so we’re having to listen to Martha’s same old stories over and over AGAIN! We decided if/when there were an earthquake here that the first thing we’d do is throw Martha over the balcony.
One of the new women, no nickname yet, introduced herself to me last week. I let her know that I’m not a morning person and she said she wasn’t either. Yet she starts yacking at me first thing , while out in the smoke pit. I merely don’t answer and she makes some snide remark and huffs off. Hopefully by the time I get back today she’ll have figured things out. If not I’ll have to go back to my decoy earphones.
The Warden continues her dissaprovals, Movie Star is now pregnant with one of the prison dudes and has to go to court for pushing soon. She’s hoping the pregnancy will see her out of years of potential time as she’s facing a long sentence. What a way to get out of the Big House!
It’s raining lightly but I don’t care, I’m on the island and there’s greenery everywhere and it’s quiet. I’m at the juncture again of knowing I’ll be back in my cozy cubbyhole again and having to leave this place of serenity.
NOTE: has a quick visit with Alison of Creekside. Great to see this amazing woman, she’s a bright bubble and her research skills are uncanny.
